What this area is for
This is the family-member door. You do not sign in with an ÁitFoirne username. You use the personal link and Family PIN the home gave you.
Before you start
- Have the link the home sent you. It belongs to you only.
- Have your six-digit Family PIN ready.
- Sit somewhere private. Do not read the PIN out loud in a shop or on a bus.
- If you do not have a link or PIN, stop and telephone the home. Do not guess.
Never use another person’s link. Two people in the same family can have two different doors.
Step-by-step: open Family Portal
- Open the personal link the home gave you. Use the internet browser on your phone or computer.
- Wait until the Family Portal PIN screen appears.
- Enter your six-digit Family PIN.
- You should see the resident’s Family wall, not a staff dashboard.
- If the PIN is wrong, try again slowly. If it still fails, telephone the home and ask them to reset it.
When you are finished
- Select Lock.
- The next person must enter their own PIN.
- Do not leave the page open on a shared tablet.
If nobody uses Family Portal for a while, it locks itself. That is normal.
If the link stops working
The home can rotate or revoke a link. A rotated link means the old one no longer opens Family Portal.
Ask the home for a new link. Do not ask a staff member to “just log in for you”.
Questions people ask
Can I download Family Portal from the App Store?
No. There is no App Store or Play Store app. Use your personal link. You may add it to the home screen. See Add Family Portal to your phone.
I installed it, but it still asks for a PIN.
That is correct. Installing only adds a shortcut. It never signs you in.
I forgot my PIN.
Telephone the home. A manager can reset the Family PIN. The new PIN is shown once, to you, privately.
